The market for backpacks, be it special hiking, ski or, in our special case, mountain bike backpacks, has literally exploded in recent years. The requirements are very different depending on the area of application. The outdoor outfitter Vaude has been active since 1974 and has the right backpack for every nature lover. A large segment is also offered for mountain bikers. We got that Gravit 15 Plus 3 looked closer.
Volume expansion, helmet holder, side compression straps, mesh side pockets, base compartment, padded hip wings, shoulder straps with FLASH NT length adjustment, chest strap, outlet for hydration system, map pocket, indicator light holder, front outer pocket with mesh organizer, reflective elements, rain cover with indicator light holder - the list of features is long, hardly any backpack offers as many special features as the Gravit 15 Plus 3. Everything has been thought of here and since Vaude is characterized by a great closeness to nature, the Green Shape certificate guarantees gentle production from sustainable materials and resources. Our test model comes in a bright, eye-catching blue and has a volume of 18 liters.
First of all, the good workmanship and the very stiff back area of the backpack are particularly noticeable. A solid hard plastic insert in combination with the back padding ensures a high level of safety. The Vaude can be adjusted Gravit 15 Plus 3 via adjustable straps. By pulling on the small red tabs, you can slide the straps in or out, depending on your height. Both women and men can use the backpack for every tour. The large main compartment can be easily adjusted in size by expanding the volume. A small space for the hydration bladder is integrated into the compartment, and the associated hose opening is located at the upper end of the backpack. Often neglected, most Vaude backpacks come with a rain cover. The orange rain cover of the Gravit 15 Plus 3 is in a small extra compartment and can be easily pulled over the backpack and stowed away just as easily.
The backpack makes a very good impression on the trail. Thanks to the hip and chest straps, as well as the adjustable shoulder straps, it fits perfectly on the back and never slips. The large main compartment offers enough space for a spare tube, fork pump, tool, rain jacket and all the other little helpers you need. Only the compartment for the hydration bladder was dimensioned a bit too large, so the water reservoir often slides back and forth. The slightly smaller compartment offers enough space for a wallet, mobile phone and also has a small plastic ring on which you can hang your bunch of keys. The helmet net can be easily and quickly attached to the four loops on the backpack and keeps the helmet in place. Another positive feature is the easily washable surface, so water splashes and dirt that got stuck can be easily removed with a cloth. With the dimensions 45,00 x 24,00 x 16,00 cm, it is also a light companion with a weight of 1020 grams.
//Conclusion
The Vaude Gravit 15 Plus 3 is a true miracle of space. Due to the volume expansion, almost the entire tool case can be stowed in the backpack. In addition, it offers a high level of safety with the very stiff back area and the adjustable straps. For the price of 85 euros you get a fully operational and robust backpack with a multitude of features.
