The Moab Pro reflects the many years of experience of the southern German company; Volume, combined with protection and well-organized storage space - this is how you get an ideal companion for the next trip.

Vaude Moab

Eco-friendly trail companion

Vaude focuses on sustainability for all products and also uses predominantly recycled raw materials for the Moab Pro. The SAS-Tec protector consists of 70% sustainably produced raw materials and the main material of the backpack consists of half recycled polyester. With the ECO Finish, the company dispenses with fluorocarbons (PFC), which are often used for water-repellent coatings.

Simple design with hidden features

The color of our test backpack is brown with black. The zippers and seams are neatly sewn and offer a clean look. We also find it positive that the few straps and straps have small laces, which prevent flapping and contribute to the tidy appearance.

If we hadn't read the description of the backpack, we wouldn't have found the zipper of the "hidden" helmet carrying system in the first place. The carrying system is located under the practical tool compartment on the front of the backpack and can be easily attached to the straps sewn above with two hooks. Very nicely solved!

Storage space with a clever organizer

The first compartment on the front contains the tool organizer. There are small compartments with rubber bands for storing a pump and enough space for spare tires and wearing parts. Above the organizer is a compartment for valuables with sewn-in storage space for smartphones, glasses and similar items.

The main compartment of the Moab offers enough storage space to stow away a rain jacket, spare clothing and hydration bladder and does without smaller compartments here. If you cycle to work, you can also use the compartment in the hydration bladder to stow a laptop. As with most backpacks in the test, the hose for the hydration system is threaded through an opening at the top of the bag. It is positive that the tube can then be routed along the left or right shoulder strap and is fastened with loops and clips.

We took the Vaude Moab Pro with us on a few shooting days and trips and were able to store cameras, lenses and equipment easily and never had the feeling that the storage space was too small.

Even if the backpack was heavily loaded, the back padding and the comfortable carrying straps offered sufficient comfort. With the padded hip belt, the weight is distributed evenly and the bag and its contents appear lighter than they actually are.

SAS-TEC protector inside

The back protector from the German manufacturer SAS-Tec is designed for sustainability and, thanks to its multi-impact capability, does not have to be replaced after every fall. However, if you want to remove or clean the protector, you can remove it using the hidden zipper on the top of the Moab Pro.

A practical and well-made companion for day or weekend tours. With plenty of storage space and a well thought-out tool organizer, the Vaude Moab Pro offers everything a trail backpack needs. The hidden features such as the helmet carrying system, the removable back protector and the rain cover are also nicely solved. What we particularly liked is that Vaude attaches great importance to sustainability and environmental friendliness during production. Vaude is presenting a great and well thought-out product here.
