POC VPD Air backpack in the test: Convenient to forget

30 December 2020 by the editorial office

Test / Accessories: A backpack for those who prefer to travel without a backpack?! The POC VPD Air combines wearing comfort, a very comfortable back protector and sufficient storage space and does not wear like a backpack but more like a vest.

The small, almost 750g backpack from the Swedish manufacturer looks like a backpack, but wears like a vest. The cleverly designed Twin-Strap Closure System distributes the weight comfortably across the chest and the extremely flexible back protector nestles comfortably against the spine. This combination offers not only protection but also a very comfortable fit.

The removable protector is made of a flexible material and verified according to EN 1621-2 Level 1 standard.

Quick Facts POC VPD Air:

POC VPD Air

The look of the POC VPD Air is simple.

The compact backpack is simply black and is decorated with a white POC logo. The "vest with storage space" is available in one size and colour. We've backpacked our home trails and bike parks in heavy rain and can confirm that the VPD Air is completely waterproof and has never let us down.

Small backpack with enough storage space

The helmet pocket is located on the front of the 750 g light VPD Air. Thanks to the adjustable straps, it can be adapted to the different helmets and the clip fastener then provides quick access to the large storage space. There are small compartments on both sides that are suitable for the smartphone, patch kit and spare tire.

The main compartment offers enough storage space to store, for example, a rain jacket, food and enough equipment for a day trip. An extra compartment for a 3L hydration system and smaller pockets for tools and accessories are sewn on the inside.

The POC VPD Air is the perfect backpack for those who actually prefer to travel without. With its cleverly designed twin-strap closure system and the extremely supple back protector, the bag feels more like a vest, but offers enough storage space for a day tour and a 3L hydration system. The waterproof finish not only impresses with its actual purpose, but can also be easily hosed down and cleaned with a garden hose. The POC VPD Air is the perfect companion on every enduro tour and, thanks to its wearing comfort, almost makes you forget that you are wearing it at all.
