Test: We would describe the Rose PS 07 Photochromic as a classic entry-level model. Overall solid, but don't expect any great miracles from the model with vario lenses. At a relatively low price, however, you get a lot for the money with the Rose glasses.
Rose PS 07 Photochromic Glass
The Rose PS 07 Photochromic glasses have self-tinting polycarbonate lenses that should offer a clear view in both sunny and cloudy skies. Unfortunately, the vario effect is relatively small, which is why a real area of application cannot be determined at all, often the glasses are then too dark or too light, which unfortunately is not the purpose of a vario lens. In different situations, if the brightness is right, you have a very good perspective and a clear view. The glass shape is a bit too small, which is why you can get one or the other splash under the glasses in the eye. The lens coating is relatively good, which is why we didn't notice any problems with water on the glasses or fogged lenses.
Rose PS 07 Photochromic - Fit
The frame plays an important role in the fit. The Rose PS 07 Photochromic initially seems quite stable and robust, but then turns out to be quite wobbly while driving. Even the deformable side brackets and nose pads can no longer compensate much, despite the non-slip material. When it comes to handling, the PS 07 scores again a little, since the lenses can be changed very easily if the external conditions change.
Rose PS 07 Photochromic - Packaging & Accessories
The packaging of the rose is unfortunately relatively unimaginative. The glasses box is poorly padded and not a hard case, which is why it should offer little protection in a suitcase, for example. Glasses bags and glasses straps with drawstrings shouldn't save much anymore. Of course, for €65 you shouldn't expect too many frills and you have to see the Rose PS 07 as an entry-level model.
