Clothing: Review: Assos Zegho Factory Team - High quality adult toys

5 October 2017 by Florian Nowak

Test: The Assos Zegho factory team is equipped with one of the highest quality glasses on the market. All technologies ensure good performance. The fit takes some getting used to, but is quite successful. Presentation and packaging are second to none and will make you feel like a kid again.

Assos Zegho factory team – glass

The lens of the Zegho factory team is from Carl Zeiss Vision and is therefore one of the highest quality on the market. With the so-called tunnel vision technology, the lower third of the lenses is clear and darkens due to a sharp gradient in the two upper thirds of the lenses. This allows the cyclist to enter a tunnel or a more shady area without suddenly feeling left in the dark. Raising your head slightly is all you need to do to see through normally without having to remove your glasses. But if you drive in the sun for a long time at a time, this technology or the tint takes a lot of getting used to, because you sometimes have the feeling that the glasses end in the middle of the field of vision. Nevertheless, the view through the glasses is pin-sharp. On the subject of field of vision, one can only say that the Assos glasses are on a par with the Oakley in our test due to the frameless frame and there are no restrictions in vision. In addition, the glasses with the RI.PEL technology have a water-repellent, self-cleaning glass.

Assos Zegho factory team – fit

The Assos Zegho factory team is extremely light and flexible thanks to its frameless frame. Almost a bit extreme for our taste - if you want to put it negatively, you could say that the glasses seem unstable. Thanks to the clickFace technology, the glasses offer a secure fit and minimize slipping due to sweating or uneven terrain. Yet the temples remain adaptable to fit individual shapes.

Assos Zegho Factory Team – Packaging & Accessories

The packaging of the Assos Zegho resembles a picture book or catalogue. You have to scroll through the different pages first to get to the glasses. The presentation is very creative and of high quality, the same applies to the design of the glasses and the white leather case. Of course a bit extravagant and not for everyone. But if you pay more than 300€ for a pair of cycling glasses, you should also be offered some erotic packaging or feel like a child unwrapping presents.

More than Florian Nowak

Florian Nowak is a professional cyclist at the EuropeTour level and has competed in many international races. At the German championship in 2017, he was the best non-WorldTour professional in 7th place and was therefore able to recommend himself for the Tour de L'Avenir and the World Championships. But he doesn't just feel comfortable on the racing bike, he's also always drawn to off-road terrain. In addition to sport, he works on his second mainstay and has completed his business administration studies at the LMU Munich.
