Equipped with a digital pressure gauge and a matt black aluminum cylinder, the PRO Floorpump Digital Team floor pump makes a very high-quality impression. The generously dimensioned Snaplock EZ pump head and the pump handle with rubberized surfaces are no less impressive. The pump looks good, but how does it fare in practical tests?
Structure of the PRO Floorpump Digital Team floor pump
The pump, which is completely in black matt, looks extremely robust despite its noble finish. This is not only evident in the 416 cm³ aluminum cylinder, but also in the metal pump base. For more sure-footedness, the two treads have a special attachment made of soft plastic. The digital manometer embedded in a plastic mold was placed on the pump foot by the designers. At the end of the 118 cm long hose is the Snaplock EZ pump head for Presta and Auto valves. The manufacturer puts the maximum air pressure at 160 psi or 11,0 bar. It is also worth taking a closer look at the handle. The ergonomic shape and the rubber coating immediately catch the eye. The ends of the handle can be removed and thus serve as holders for a ball needle and an air mattress adapter.
Commissioning and operation of the digital pressure gauge
The operation of the ready-to-use PRO Floorpump Digital Team floor pump does not pose any major challenges for the user. The digital manometer is switched on and off by holding down the power button above the display. With a short click you can switch between bar (2 decimal places) and psi (1 decimal place). Pressing the button simultaneously activates the backlight. In order to protect the built-in CR 2032 battery, it goes out after a few seconds. The automatic switch-off of the entire display after 40 seconds also pursues the same goal. With or without backlighting, the display is very easy to read. In addition to the air pressure, the display also shows the current battery level. Should the small energy supplier weaken, it can be easily replaced with the help of a mini Phillips screwdriver.
PRO Floorpump Digital Team: Haptics and pumping behavior
When it comes to feel and pumping behavior, the PRO Floorpump Digital Team does not allow itself any weaknesses. The ergonomic handle feels great in the hand and the perfectly placed rubber inserts ensure an ideal grip. The feeling of pumping is no less impressive. Operating forces remain low regardless of volume or pressure, allowing for effortless inflation. The Snaplock EZ pump head can be fixed well and easily on the valve. The lever is quite tight, but thanks to the generous dimensioning of the head, one-handed operation is still possible. The floor pump has to put up with some criticism at the pump base. This is really nicely designed, and the attachments also bring real added value, but due to the small dimensions, minimal wobbling is noticeable when inflating.
