Product news: With the new Bryton Rider 750, the Taiwan-based manufacturer Bryton Inc is launching its first GPS bike computer that offers the user address input via voice command and ANT+ FE-C support (Fitness Equipment Control). The bike computer, which is equipped with a 2,8-inch color touchscreen, also has a revised graphical user interface and a navigation function with pre-installed OSM maps.
The Bryton Rider 750 GPS bike computer is the first device from Bryton Inc to offer online location search by voice command. Without having to take your hand off the handlebars, POIs and other places can be determined conveniently and safely. According to the manufacturer, the voice command function understands over 100 languages. The device uses OpenStreetMaps (OSM) for navigation. When using the navigation feature, the Rider 750 provides detailed turn-by-turn navigation, including distance and heading information before each turn. The maps with the most important regions worldwide are already pre-installed on the computer. The free maps are updated every 6 months and should therefore always be up to date. Additional map data can be downloaded free of charge and transferred to the Rider 750 if required.
The ANT+ FE-C support (Fitness Equipment Control) for smart home trainers also transforms the versatile bike computer into a fitness trainer. For example, the resistance of the home trainer can be adjusted to the training goals during indoor training. In addition, user-defined training units can be created using the Bryton Active app and "followed" with a smart exercise bike. Another feature and important security aspect of the GPS bike computer is the support of Bike Radar. In the measurement view of the Bryton Rider 750, the radar bar shows approaching vehicles. In addition, the radar function can be supported by acoustic warnings that warn the user as soon as oncoming vehicles come too close.
Bryton Rider 750: 2,8 inch color touch screen and revised GUI
All functions and data are displayed on a 2,8-inch color touchscreen with a revised graphical user interface (GUI) and easy-to-understand icons. According to Bryton, the touchscreen can even be operated with gloves, which in turn makes scrolling through the ride data and map pages easier. Thanks to the support of up to three bike profiles, the bike computer can be set up to meet individual requirements. The settings can be configured down to the last detail. After pairing multiple sensors, the Bryton Rider 750 uses the collective sensor pool to find and display nearby active sensors. This makes it easy to switch sensors or use the device on a different bike. The Bryton Rider 750 is completed by e-bike support for Shimano Steps drives.
The basic bundle (Rider 750E) including bike computer and sports mount starts at a price of 249,95 euros, the sensor bundle (Rider 750T) with bike computer, sports mount, cadence sensor, speed sensor and heart rate sensor is available for 319,95 euros offered. According to the manufacturer, the battery life is 20 hours.
