Product news: With the new BMC Roadmachine, the endurance classic from the Swiss premium manufacturer is entering its third generation. For twelve years now, the manufacturer's Endurance has stood for functional performance and great compatibility for various possible uses. The new Endurance models have been completely rethought and not only have more features, but also offer real performance advantages that all drivers can use.
Twelve years ago, the Swiss manufacturer BMC introduced the Granfondo, a bike that was particularly characterized by a successful combination of flexibility and performance and had proven itself in demanding races on cobblestones. This was the starting signal for today's endurance models. Four years later, the BMC Roadmachine was introduced and a 2020nd generation was released in 2. After four years of development work, the new BMC Roadmachine wants to once again redefine the standard for endurance bikes.
The new BMC road machine
The new BMC Roadmachine comes with a completely redesigned frame based on the proven Roadmachine philosophy combined with new features such as more generous tire clearance, more comfort and much more. Depending on the setup, the new road machine offers fast acceleration, controlled flex and reactive handling or the option of installing 40 mm wide gravel tires, making it a real all-round bike.
From a technical point of view, the revised frame has many features characteristic of BMC, including the TCC (Tuned Compliance Concept) Endurance technology, which ensures the required vertical compliance, the D-Shape seat post, the ICS (Integrated Cockpit System).
They also wanted to find a way to fit larger tires without changing the bike's entire wheelbase, as well as add storage and lighting to the frame without compromising handling. The bottom bracket was repositioned and the seat tube and seat post were made more flexible.
Further improvements have been made to the frame of the Roadmachine to enable a more comfortable seating position and at the same time flexible adjustment. Other small tweaks to maintain the familiar handling include the 5mm lower bottom bracket and the retention of the slack head angle and therefore the original caster, bringing the Endurance formula back into line.
“Our Gen1 Roadmachine has greatly influenced the look of modern racing bikes and was the first bike with integrated cable routing on the market. With our latest generation, we continue to be at the forefront of innovation - a family of bikes that balance important features with premium performance and offer the clean look that characterizes BMC." - Stefan Christ, Head of Research and Development at BMC
