Lightweight and breathable racing shoe with high-strength, mesh-like structure: fi'zi:k Vento Powerstrap Aeroweave

10 April 2024 by Andrew Waldera

Product news: The fi'zi:k performance racing series, developed in collaboration with professional cyclists, is aimed at athletes who place the highest demands on the material. With the new Vento Powerstrap Aeroweave, the Italian manufacturer is launching what it claims to be the lightest and most breathable racing shoe in the series. This was achieved by using the innovative second generation Aeroweave upper material.

Equipped with the innovative second generation Aeroweave upper material, the fi'zi:k Vento Powerstrap Aeroweave is a racing shoe for the highest demands. According to the manufacturer, it is the lightest and most breathable shoe in the series. Particularly noteworthy in this context is the mesh-like upper material, which is said to be even lighter and softer in the second generation than before. This material interweaves nylon fibers with filaments of thermoplastic polymers to achieve both weight reduction and better ventilation while maintaining support and protection.

The foot-enclosing Powerstrap Velcro fastener ensures optimal fixation and an ideal fit of the fi'zi:k racing shoe. While most traditional Velcro straps simply involve pulling both sides of the shoe's upper together, the Vento Powerstrap configuration wraps a band around the foot, designed to provide a secure hold using just two straps. The instep and midfoot are separately adjustable for custom fit and compression. These straps have been tightened to make the shoe even lighter and stronger.

The fi'zi:k Vento Powerstrap Aeroweave shoe is completed by an R3 carbon outsole with recessed cleat positioning. Here too, everything has been completely updated. The all-new sole features an updated carbon fiber construction and a redesigned design. The background here is to reduce weight without affecting rigidity. With an index of 10, the R3 is a stiff outsole that allows for optimal power transfer. Two wide vents and deep internal channels contribute to temperature management.

The fi'zi:k Vento Powerstrap-Aeroweave racing shoe is available in the colors Coral or White/White at a price of 350,00 euros. The shoe sizes offered range from 36 to 48 (37 to 47 are also available in half sizes).
