German ladies & gentlemen satisfied with the quality
The German women's four set a new record at the start of the European Track Cycling Championships in Berlin. In the 4.000-meter team pursuit, the old record was improved by four seconds to 4:25,355 minutes. This time was enough for Charlotte Becker, Lisa Brennauer, Lisa Klein and Gudrun Stock to qualify for third place. The men's foursome around Felix Groß, Theo Reinhardt, Domenic Weinstein and Kersten Thiele finished fourth in 3:59,730 minutes. Today, the European Track Cycling Championships in Berlin are about medals for the first time. The event will be broadcast on both Eurosport 2 and the Eurosport Player.
National coach Sven Meyer: “The qualification wasn't optimal, we had quite a restlessness in our run. I'm very satisfied with the time."
Theo Reinhardt: "It wasn't perfect yet, but we used what we've got."
Lisa Brennauer: “The run felt really good. If you consider that this is actually the first time we have driven together, the time is very good. We had orientated ourselves to this time. That was a good start and gives us motivation for the next round.”
