10. February 2023 by Michael Behringer

Dörnbach Track Cycling European Championships

Cycling: Maximilian Dörnbach won the bronze medal in the 1.000 meter time trial at the European Track Cycling Championships in Grenchen. The women's foursome did the same on Thursday evening.

2x bronze on day two

At the start of the European Track Cycling Championships in Grenchen, the Federation of German Cyclists was able to celebrate the gold medal twice. The day after that it should be enough for bronze twice. Maximilian Dornbach won bronze in the 1.000 meter time trial. The Dutchman Jeffrey Hoogland won ahead of the Spaniard Alejandro Martinez Chorro. Dörnbach was just 0,091 seconds off second place. Only a little later the women's four had to change in the team pursuit Franziska Brausse, Laura Süssemilch, and Lisa Klein and Mike Kroeger be content with third place. The defending champions won the small final against France. Shortly before the start of the European Championships, they could not train much together due to illnesses in the team.
