Market: SealSkinz, the British specialist in waterproof clothing, is focusing its spring/summer 2016 collection on lightweight weather protection for road cyclists and commuters. Among other things, nanotechnologies and a special hydrostop technology are used, which are intended to make daily training or the journey to work much more pleasant, regardless of the weather.
SealSkinz glove models Madeleine and Ventoux
SealSkinz expands the glove collection with the Madeleine and Ventoux models. Like the two fingerless gloves Ventoux-Classic and Aero, the Madeleine-Classic full-finger glove has an outer surface treated with nanotechnology. With this special treatment, the water rolls off immediately and thus prevents penetration into the glove. Ventilation openings in the area of the palms of the hands and anatomically arranged padding should guarantee the cyclist a very high level of comfort. For an optimal fit, the glove models also have a stretchable back of the hand made of stretchy material.
The tight-fitting waistband can be individually adjusted with a Velcro fastener, and a loop makes it easy to take the gloves off and put them on quickly. The applied reflective elements ensure extra safety on evening rides. The thumb and forefinger of the Madeleine Classic full-finger model are touchscreen-capable and thus enable the smartphone to be operated without having to take off the glove first. The SealSkinz Madeleine Classic is available in sizes S to XXL at a price of 54 euros, the Aero version costs 50 euros. The two fingerless Ventoux models are also available in sizes S to XXL, the price here is 44 euros (Classic) and 40 euros (Aero).
SealSkinz Socks and Oversocks
Wet feet are a nightmare for every cyclist! With the Road Ankle with Hydrostop, SealSkinz offers a waterproof sock that is supposed to reliably prevent water from penetrating from above with its Hydrostop technology. The rubber lining attached to the inner edge of the waistband should also give the socks ideal support. For better skin compatibility, no latex or silicone was used for the rubber coating. The three-layer structure of the socks should also guarantee 100% weather protection with perfect moisture management. The breathable and 35% waterproof socks are made of stretchy material with an elastic membrane and a merino lining. The socks are available in several sizes at a price of XNUMX euros.
If necessary, the SealSkinz Cycle Over Socks can be pulled over quickly. The waterproof and breathable oversocks reliably protect feet and shoes from water and dirt. According to the manufacturer, the narrow-cut pull-on socks should fit over any shoe thanks to their good stretchability, and there are openings for clickies and heels. An annoying snagging on Velcro fasteners is impossible thanks to the polyester-cotton mixture. The SealSkinz Cycle Over Socks are available in three colors in sizes S/M, L and XL. The price is given as 50 euros.
