Market: In 1985, exactly 30 years ago, three engineers at WL Gore developed the legendary Giro jacket, the first waterproof yet breathable cycling jacket with the famous Gore-Tex membrane.
In the anniversary year, Gore Bike Wear uses the new motto "INTO THE ELEMENTS" to make it clear that its products are made for cyclists, to give them the opportunity to pursue their sport and to focus fully on their personal passion, no matter the conditions. A highlight of this development is the very exciting Rescue WS AS jacket.
Until now, cyclists had to make a decision: if a cycling jacket was to be light, it usually had to accept losses in terms of functionality. A highly functional jacket, on the other hand, quickly becomes too heavy and bulky to just slip away in a jersey pocket.
With the Rescue WS AS jacket, the product developers at Gore are now presenting a real innovation: The Rescue WS AS is intended to be a kind of insurance for emergencies; it should be there for the athlete exactly when he really needs it and otherwise – as part of the emergency equipment – remain barely noticeable. Extremely small to stow away and very light at 123 grams (for size L), it reliably protects cyclists but also every other athlete in the event of a change in the weather or a drop in temperature. The integrated Windstopper Active Shell material is light, absolutely windproof, water-repellent and still breathable. The tight-fitting hood gives the athlete freedom of movement, follows head movements and can be worn under the helmet.
Thanks to its unique cut, the jacket is particularly versatile and also fits into your luggage for other outdoor activities; That's why we're also sure that they will rarely see the inside of a wardrobe but will be part of the standard equipment whenever you leave the house - whether on the way to work, on the mountain or on vacation.
The Rescue WS AS will be available from specialist retailers from spring 2016 at a price of 219,95 euros.
