Product news: The Wahoo Kickr devices stand for an incomparable indoor driving experience and have been offering the best connectivity and real conditions for several years, even in your own four walls. With the latest devices in the Wahoo Kickr ecosystem, the fitness technology manufacturer wants to offer an even more advanced, connected experience, primarily relying on an improved range of functions and Wi-Fi connectivity that enables a seamless connection between smart trainers and any apps, platforms and systems should allow.
With an extensive update of the two smart trainers, Wahoo has introduced the Kickr Wifi Trainer and the Kickr Bike Wifi. Both devices come with new and improved features, including Wi-Fi connectivity designed to provide a seamless and connected user experience across the Wahoo ecosystem and in conjunction with many other platforms and apps.
Even if the new devices only look minimally different from their predecessors, the new version has it all. Through a comprehensive, connected indoor and outdoor ecosystem, Wahoo aims to position itself as the global leader in intelligent fitness training with its physical and digital products. By making devices more connected, Wahoo gives athletes training tools and resources to achieve individual goals, no matter how and where they train.
The new Wahoo Kickr WIFI systems
The addition of Wi-Fi connectivity to the popular Kickr Smart Trainer and Kickr bike offers riders a more connected and significantly more advanced riding experience - and with it the ability to connect via phones, tablets and other electronic devices. Without the dependency on different hardware layers like Bluetooth and ANT+ chips, Wi-Fi also solves the problem of disconnections. This allows riders to ensure they stay connected throughout their training. Wi-Fi offers significantly higher data transfer speeds than Bluetooth and ANT+. This brings data to the screen more than 65% faster than before, making training more seamless and eRacing even more precise. The introduction of Wi-FI also comes with the added bonus of the industry-recognized Wahoo customer support team being able to troubleshoot in real-time, as well as automating firmware updates.
“Our team is constantly working to add new capabilities and features to our state-of-the-art Kickr trainers and accessories. We're proud that Wahoo is the first major brand to introduce WiFi on their smart trainers and indoor bikes, and continues to lead innovation in the category. We're building the most innovative connected fitness ecosystem out there, and these new wifi-enabled products play a key role in that.” — Mike Saturnia, CEO of Wahoo
The launches of these two devices with even better connectivity follow the launch of Wahoo's first streaming service, Wahoo X, following its acquisition of RGT Cycling in April 2022, creating a seamlessly connected ecosystem for indoor and outdoor training, which offers the athletes an extensive setup. Within Wahoo X, Wahoo RGT enables training with other riders, while SYSTM provides sports science-based workouts and training plans. The capabilities of these new KICKR devices with Wi-Fi creates a unified, connected fitness experience so athletes spend more time riding and less time connecting.
