Wahoo Kickr news: Kickr Move and Kickr Bike Shift

September 12, 2023 by Florian Nowak

Product news: The leading FitTech manufacturer Wahoo is back with two highlights ahead of the upcoming cold months. We're talking about the new Wahoo Kickr Move and the Wahoo Kickr Bike Shift, both of which are intended to provide an unprecedented riding experience in the Wahoo indoor ecosystem.

Wahoo Kickr Move

In September last year, Wahoo's Kickr smart trainer received an upgrade and was equipped with Wi-Fi, but as it is still the only trainer on the market with this feature, the manufacturer is not resting on its laurels, but is upping the ante this September with the Wahoo Kickr Move is the latest model of the indoor trainer, which, according to its own statements, aims to create “probably the most realistic driving experience of a smart trainer ever”.

But what does the addition “Move” mean? The new smart trainer from Wahoo has an additional forward-backward movement of the trainer body of over 20cm. This creates a completely new, far more realistic driving experience. The Kickr Move thus complements the already known right-left movement option with the adjustable Axis Feet. This unique built-in two-axis movement creates a feeling very similar to cycling outdoors.

Wahoo Kickr Move

The mechanism of the Wahoo innovation for 2023 works via defined roller wheels that are located in a fixed, slightly curved rail. As the rider changes his position on the saddle, the Kickr Move moves forward and backward with him. Due to the bending of the rail, small changes in sitting position on the saddle result in little movement, while an all-out sprint or an uphill section while standing results in a much larger range of movement. If you want to forego the mechanism, the Wahoo Kickr Move has a lock switch that can be used to deactivate the movement, making it easier to get on bikes and move the trainer, for example when transporting it, and allows it to be adjusted to the rider's preferences.

So that you can benefit from this innovative Wahoo innovation across the entire ecosystem, an easy-to-use hardware add-on was developed at the same time as the market launch, which is compatible with the existing Kickr Climb models and thus also increases mobility at the front absorbs.

The Wahoo Kickr Move is priced at 1.599 euros.

As part of this joint launch, Wahoo is also launching a brand new indoor smart bike, the Kickr Bike Shift. This is intended to build on the real riding experience of the well-known Kickr Bike and ensure an even smarter and more appealing indoor bike experience with new features and functions such as Reality Shift, True Fit, Real Ride Feel and of course Wi-Fi.

By integrating a new braking and belt drive system, Wahoo ensures a real-time response of the resistance to changes in incline and power and also makes the ride even quieter than before. Since the construction and commissioning of such an indoor bike is often daunting before making a purchase, the transition from delivery to the first ride has been designed to be as quick and easy as possible. Here, a new unboxing experience ensures easier installation and a better experience even before the first ride. A QR code leads drivers to quick and easy digital instructions delivered through videos.

The Wahoo Kickr Bike Shift comes for 2.999 Euro onto the market.
