Product news: With the chain links made of hardened steel, which are almost one centimeter thick, the Trelock BC 680 chain lock is already visually a tough chunk for bicycle thieves. The combination of harder outer and softer inner links is intended to ensure reliable protection against severe cuts or cold spray attacks.
The Münster bicycle security experts from Trelock are once again declaring war on bicycle thieves. With the new BC 680 chain lock, potential perpetrators are already visually intimidated. When designing the new lock, the developers followed the obvious basic rule “the thicker and more resistant the chain, the more difficult it is to crack”. For this purpose, the engineers gave the lock impressive 9,5 millimeter thick chain links. The chain consists of harder outer links and softer inner links. According to Trelock, this connection should offer reliable protection against severe cuts or cold spray attacks. Bicycle thieves should bite their teeth on the chain itself.
But what about the locking mechanism? The so-called lock picking is very popular with bicycle thieves, i.e. the locking mechanism is levered out using a filigree tool. According to Trelock's own statements, this has also been put a stop to with the BC 680. The disc cylinder in the locking mechanism should be immune to such attacks. A lot of effort that pays off: With a security level of 6 out of 6, the Trelock BC 680 chain lock is one of the manufacturer's most secure bicycle locks. So that the chain does not scratch the bike, it is surrounded by a resistant textile tube. A cap protects the locking mechanism from dust and dirt. The chain length of 110 centimeters also enables uncomplicated chaining to fixed objects. The chain lock is available now at a price of 62,99 euros.
