MTB News: After almost three years of development, the British children's bike manufacturer Early Rider, in cooperation with the US custom children's bike brand Lil Shredder, has launched two child-friendly fullys for the bike park. The models Hellion X20 in 20" and Hellion X24 in 24" are suitable for children from the age of about six or eight years. The two models are now being sold by Cosmic Sports.

Both models are based on a single-pivot frame with the brushed finish typical of Early Riders. The combination of triple butted 6061 and 6066 aluminum ensures stability and light weight. A CNC-milled damper swing arm is used to support the damper. The spring elements from RST at the front and DMN at the rear have been specially adapted for the new Hellion X models. The Hellion X20 offers the youngest bike park rider 100 mm of travel at the front and 95 mm at the rear and can be converted to a 16" rear wheel if necessary thanks to the exchangeable dropouts. In the 24" version for children from around eight years of age, the spring travel in the rear can be adjusted to either 100 or 125 millimeters. An RST F1RST Air suspension fork works at the front with a generous 120 millimeters.

It is shifted with a 1×10 gear mix from Shimano (20") or a 1×11 Shimano Deore derailleur system (24"). The casual bikes are rounded off by a cockpit from Ritchey, hydraulic Shimano Deore disc brakes, a robust SDG Jr. Pro saddle and fat 2.25" tanwall tires from Vee Tires. The Hellion X20 weighs 10,15 kilograms and the Hellion X24 11,5 kilograms. Visually and technically hardly distinguishable from "big" mountain bikes, the price is of course hardly surprising: For child-friendly fun in the bike park, a smooth 2.399,00 euros or 2.499,00 euros must be invested.
