Product news: The Wahoo Kickr enters the fifth round. With the latest model in the Kickr line, the fitness manufacturer has improved its tried-and-tested Smart Trainer and got people interested in winter training as early as August.
The fifth generation Wahoo Kickr improves on the legendary realistic driving experience that Wahooligans value and offers athletes a multitude of improvements that make every virtual ride and every training session an even better experience.
Also used by World Tour teams INEOS and BORA-hansgrohe, the new Kickr is coming to living rooms with a range of new functionalities. This release refines power measurement accuracy from +/-2% to +/-1% through a proprietary auto-calibration process. This gives the new Wahoo Kickr unmatched performance accuracy without requiring the cyclist to perform manual spin down calibration. This saves valuable time and gives athletes even more confidence in the accuracy of their performance data.
Another feature of the new Kickr are the AXIS feet, which were introduced for the first time. Thanks to this new technology, the athlete enjoys an even more natural, comfortable ride. The AXIS feet allow for controlled, realistic lateral tilt of the Kickr-mounted wheel up to 5 degrees to the right and left. The degree of inclination can be adjusted using various attachments that are simply mounted on or above the polymer feet. The new AXIS feet are also sold separately as an upgrade kit. Since the feet are compatible with previous Kickr versions, existing Wahooligans can upgrade their trainers with the latest technology and an even more natural, comfortable ride.
Like the previous model, this version of the Wahoo Kickr is virtually silent, so it won't disturb family or neighbors and indoor cycling continues to feel more like an outdoor ride.
“With major updates that improve any indoor ride, our newest KICKR will bring an even better, more realistic ride to all Wahooligans. With no need for calibration and with improved accuracy, riders can be more confident in performance metrics than ever, and with new AXIS feet that allow for subtle side-to-side movement, the ride has never been more realistic.” – Wahoo Product Manager Tyler Harris. "
Despite the significantly increased range of functions, the recommended retail price of the new KICKR remains unchanged at 1.199,99 euros compared to the previous generation. Anyone who wants to be prepared for all eventualities will be happy about the immediate availability of the new Wahoo Kickr.
The AXIS upgrade kit will then be available from Wahoo retailers at the end of September for a recommended retail price of 79,99 euros. Wahoo also offers the only complete indoor cycling ecosystem. Because the Wahoo Kickr Smart Trainer is compatible with the Kickr Climb Indoor Grade Simulator, the Kickr Headwind Smart Fan and the Kickr Desk. Of course, the new Kickr also works perfectly with indoor training from Wahoo's The Sufferfest Virtual Training App.
