With confidence in the coming year: BiketheRock organizers present date for 2021

24 April 2020 by Andrew Waldera

Bike the Rock Heubach

MTB News: The Heubach MTB festival BiketheRock would have celebrated its 20th edition this weekend, but the Bundesliga classic had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic. This happened quite early on, and as has long since turned out, quite rightly so. But instead of resigning, the organizers are going all out and immediately announce a new date for the 20th BiketheRock.

Bike the Rock Heubach

This year there will be no BiketheRock in Heubach, but next year everything should be back to normal. The organizers of the MTB festival are confident and name the 24th/25th April 2021 a new date for hosting the Bundesliga classic. With the setting of the new date, preparations are slowly starting. After the many cancellations in the last few weeks, there is finally a goal again, for the organizers as well as for the cross-country riders and the fans.

“As regrettable as the effects of the pandemic are, there will be life after the Corona crisis. We don't yet know what will happen in the coming year, but we really hope that we will all see each other again in good health. In any case, we are confident that we will return to normality in 2021. We want to send a positive signal with this event” – Eckhard Häffner, head of organization at BiketheRock

BiketheRock started as a hobby event in 2001, only three years later a Bundesliga race with E1 status was held in Heubach. The event has held HC status since 2006 – an honorary status it has held to this day. Due to the increasing popularity of marathon races, the 2016st FUJI Bikes Marathon took place in 1. This year, the German MTB marathon championship was to be held in Heubach as part of the BiketheRock MTB festival.
