Product news: For three decades, the product developers at Rudy Project have been meeting the needs and desires of athletes in a wide variety of areas. Of course, the focus is also on cyclists, who will find both goggles and helmets in the portfolio of the traditional Italian company. For the coming season, Rudy Project is expanding the existing range with two new helmets for cyclists and mountain bikers.
Venger: Touring helmet for long and sweaty days
The designers at the traditional Italian company Rudy Project have developed the Venger touring helmet for long, sweaty days in the saddle. The model impresses with a dynamic design and has an EPS In-Mold X-Kross construction, which should guarantee the bike tourer excellent protection. 22 ventilation slots in combination with the front airframe padding ensure cooling of the head. To ensure maximum compatibility with all head shapes, the Venger also comes with the RSR 10 adjustment system. The installed Bugstop mesh pad can be swapped out for the included traditional pad if required. With the Venger Cross, mountain bikers will also find a special off-road version of the helmet with a removable visor. The Venger will be available in three sizes, the weight is specified as 220 grams in size S or 250 grams in size L, the Venger Cross should weigh between 240 and 270 grams depending on the helmet size.
Protera+: Compact MTB all-round helmet with extra all-round protection
The engineers have also dedicated themselves to the Protera for the coming season and have developed a successor model with the Protera+. The Portera+ has a triple in-mold construction with a surrounding inner shell for extra all-round protection. Other features of the compact MTB all-round helmet include the RSR 10 adjustment system, the foldable visor and the padded bugstop mesh insert. If necessary, the latter can be exchanged for the conventional cushion supplied. The retaining clip on the back of the helmet prevents the goggles from slipping off. The developers of the helmet were also very innovative and creative when designing the fastening straps. With the Protera+, these can be removed for cleaning or even replaced thanks to the quick-change system. An individual design of the helmet is also possible with other colours. According to the manufacturer, the Protera+, which is available in two sizes, weighs between 300 and 370 grams, depending on the equipment and size.
