Test: The Cube HPA 2000 helmet lamp has recently joined Cube's extensive range of accessories. We took a closer look at the multiple test winner of the Waldershofener. Together with the innovative mounting system on the Cube Rook helmet, we brought the 2000 lumen burner to the trails of the Bavarian Forest.
Cube HPA 2000 helmet lamp: Equipped with lots of accessories for all eventualities
Of course, in addition to the lamp head with its powerful 2000 lumens, a battery is included in the scope of delivery. The supplied Panasonic battery has an unbelievable capacity of 3400 mAh. The 10-level battery indicator shows you immediately how much remaining capacity you have left. In addition, the Cube HPA 2000 battery still has a reserve capacity, thanks to which you will never be left in the dark. The highlight of the battery indicator, it also works as a rear light. Because if the battery is mounted directly on the helmet, you not only have a clear view ahead, but you will also be recognized by oncoming traffic.
In addition to the battery, there are also various brackets on board. In addition to the clamps and plates for frame and helmet attachment, this also includes a rubber band. This rubber band allows you to use the helmet lamp as a headlamp. So you don't just get something out of it when biking. The standard lamp head mounting plate is compatible with all GoPro mounts. So if you have a helmet with an integrated GoPro mount, you can use it at any time.
For simplified operation, you also get a handlebar remote control ex works. This communicates with the lamp via Bluetooth protocol without additional coupling.
Cube HPA 2000 helmet lamp: Easy to install thanks to the mounting plate on the helmet
Lamp and helmet are perfectly matched in the set. The Cube Helm Rook has an integrated holder that is designed for the battery of the Cube HPA 2000 helmet lamp or an individual rear light.
Cube HPA 2000 helmet lamp: Good illumination on three levels
The lamp head of the Cube HPA 2000 helmet lamp is made of CNC milled aluminum and weighs just 60 grams. It is therefore ideal for mounting on the helmet without the additional weight being noticeable. Overall, the Cube helmet lamp has four different light levels and three additional signal levels.

Are there actually lamps that can be recharged by friction?
Bachmann says
The lamp is the last garbage. I've swapped them out twice. With a maximum brightness of 2 lumens, it switches to the middle level after less than 1600 minutes and then can no longer be adjusted, not even to the weakest level. 5 € for 200 minutes of light is laughable, I would say. In addition, no information is given for how long and at what outside temperature the lamp switches off if it gets too hot. It's 4 degrees for me right now lol. Don't buy it clearly Cube should be ashamed to put something like this on the market.
