PRO Tubeless Tire Levers Tool in the test: Tubeless tire levers for racing bikes and gravel bikes

PRO Tubeless Tire Levers Tool in the test

Bicycle tire lever test: The PRO Tubeless Tire Levers are specially designed for tubeless tires in racing bikes and gravel bikes. The set consists of two individual levers, each of which has specific functions due to its design. The use of the tool is limited to tires with a maximum width of 2.1″. Can the tubeless tire lever for racing bikes and gravel bikes convince in practice?

PRO Tubeless Tire Levers Tool: First impression

The two tire levers included in the set are made of nylon. The material is quite flexible, which makes sense given the larger of the two levers. Similar to pliers, the lever for mounting the tire is placed over the tire - so the lever must be able to be spread. Regardless of this, the large lever also has a shovel for putting the tire on and off. The structured grip areas promise extra grip and a good feel. In combination with the length, nothing stands in the way of higher leverage forces. The integration of the small lever is cleverly solved, which ensures that both copies are always on board. The small tire lever also comes with a shovel and also has a spoke hook.

The bicycle tire lever in the test

Thanks to the hook function of the larger lever, a stiff tubeless tire can be lifted onto the rim relatively easily and without painful fingers. However, this only works really well with narrow rims and tires. On our 650b wheel, however, the U-shaped end kept slipping off the edge of the rim. The nylon used ensures that neither the rim nor the tire are damaged during installation. The choice of material is completely justified in this case; we would like the smaller lever to be more rigid. This gives way quite quickly under larger lever forces, making work more difficult. The reliable fixation of the spoke hook, however, is impressive even with thicker spokes.

The idea of the hook function to lift the tire onto the rim is really good and works great on narrow rims and tires. A good feel and high leverage forces also enable the lever to be long. However, the smaller lever could be a little stiffer.
