Testing: Cube Race Hybrid Pumps - Flexible and practical?

August 2, 2019 by the editorial office

Test: Pumps are available like sand in all price categories. But would you like to think that a pump is a pump? Or not? There is now the right solution for every application, whether MTB or road. And then there are also CO2 cartridges to save time. With the Cube Race Hybrid pumps you are prepared for all eventualities.

Cube Race Hybrid: The hybrid principle

At first glance, the two Cube Race Hybrid pumps look like normal pumps. The first difference between the two is the volume body itself. The more voluminous variant is the Cube Race Hybrid HV, suitable for mountain bike tires. This is where a lot of volume is important in the shortest possible time. The Cube Race Hybrid HP is the racing bike version. It can generate a significantly higher pressure.

But if you take a closer look, you can see the hybrid structure. Because the pump head can be unscrewed from the pump body and the thread of the head now fits exactly on a CO2 cartridge. Not only can you switch between cartridge and manual operation, both French and AV valves also fit.

The accessories that come with it are also extremely useful. The two holders are intended for the CO2 cartridges and the pump itself. They can be mounted on top of each other and a bottle holder also fits.
