Compressor pump test: When it comes to tools and tools, the most important thing is a good feel and reliable functionality. In our large compressor pump test, all previous products were able to convince us with regard to these criteria. However, the Fumpa Pumps FUMPA adds one more point here: exclusivity. This is reflected not only in the design, but also in the price. But are the Fumpa Pumps FUMPA really worth the money?
Fumpa Pumps FUMPA: structure and functions
With a current price of 129,00 euros, the Fumpa Pumps FUMPA are significantly higher than the price of the models tested so far. Not a little money for a pump, but in return the buyer gets a very stylish product. The design leaves nothing to be desired and the workmanship and materials are first-class. The size of 88x75x43 millimeters and the weight of 363 grams allow it to be easily transported in luggage. However, the pump is too heavy for a quick training session on a racing bike.
The pump is equipped with a digital pressure gauge, which not only shows the tire air pressure, but also allows the display to be set in advance in bar, PSI or KPA. For this purpose, the FUMPA has an illuminated switch that can also be used to start the pumping process. Switching on and off is done via a separate switch. A USB-C charging socket is used to charge the 550 mAh battery. Despite the high price, the pump does not have a freely selectable maximum air pressure and the associated automatic switch-off.
The compressor pump in the test
As with all other models in the Velomotion cordless compressor pump test, we measured the duration of inflating a 700x23C tire at 4 and 8 bar. No other pump in the test was anywhere near as fast! The time of a sensational 12 seconds (4 bar) or 37 seconds (8 bar) makes all competitors look pale. What is also striking is the high noise level and the strong heat development. The manufacturer even recommends using a metal valve extension for latex/polyurethane hoses with plastic valve stems.
Depending on the valve, the valve attachment must be unscrewed and adjusted with the inserted rubber ring. This can be annoying in cold or rainy conditions, especially since the small metal pin for the Schrader valve can quickly get lost. The jumping digital display is also a bit irritating. In order to display the tire pressure accurately, the pumping process must be interrupted briefly. The capacity of the battery is sufficient for several tires, depending on the air pressure and tire size. Both the FUMPA and the miniFUMPA, which we also tested, basically enable tubeless tires to be inflated. However, the tire/rim combination plays a big role. If you want to be on the safe side, you shouldn't rely exclusively on FUMPA.

- 4 bar: 12 seconds
- 8 bar: 37 seconds
