Market: With the HUGENE, the bike manufacturer Propain presents their interpretation of the perfect trail bike. For the first time, the Vogt-based company is using the large 29″ wheels. The Propain HUGENE is offered in three pre-configurations, all of which are freely configurable. The carbon trail bike will be available to order from June of this year.
The Propain HUGENE is said to belong to the kind of bikes that are able to conjure up a big grin on the biker's face. For this purpose, the bike manufacturer from Vogt deliberately relies on 29 inch wheels and its proven PRO10 suspension system. The latter has been completely revised for the new trail bike. The damper is now protected from dirt and grime in front of the seat tube. Of course, the engineers also focused on the drive efficiency of the 130 millimeter chassis during development. According to the manufacturer, the result is a bike that has the climbing properties of a hardtail when going uphill, but offers perfect sensitivity when going downhill and, thanks to its progressive nature, offers high puncture protection.
When manufacturing the carbon frame, Propain uses a mix of different carbon prepreg materials. Depending on the location and load case, unidirectional or differently woven fiber mats are used. Specially selected load-bearing fibers should also ensure a particularly high tear resistance. Before series production, the frame had to prove its tough qualities on test benches. Team riders like Downhill World Cup rider Phil Atwill have put the HUGENE through its paces beforehand. The bike manufacturer from Vogt also leaves nothing to chance when it comes to the bearings. For optimal protection against dirt and moisture, the engineers gave all frame bearings a specially sealed bearing cover.
In contrast to the previous sales concept with three fixed series bikes and a freely configurable "Project Free", Propain is pursuing a completely different basic idea with the HUGENE. The Propain HUGENE is offered in three pre-configurations, which are freely configurable. You can choose from the three basic models "Start", "Bestseller" and "Highend", which can be individually adapted with other components. The new 29" carbon trail bike from Propain is available in four sizes (S, M, L and XXL) and in the colors lime, silver and carbon raw. The HUGENE can be ordered from Propain's online shop from June. Prices are expected to range between EUR 3.099,00 (Start model) and EUR 6.399,00 (Highend model).
