Mitchelton-Scott controls the action
The five-day Herald Sun Tour was supposed to end after today's stage. She led the drivers in Kinglake on a slightly bumpy circuit over 152,1 kilometers. The Mitchelton-Scott team with overall leader Stephen Chaves controlled the peloton. The breakaways weren't given much leeway, also because some teams sensed their chance of a day's win again today. But it wasn't easy for them, as a very strong breakaway group formed in the last few kilometers. The two Danes Mads pedersen (Trek-Segafredo) – Winner of second stage - and Let Norman Hansen (Aqua Blue Sport) – winner of the first stage – formed with Dylan Sunderland (Bennelong Swiss Wellness Cycling Team) and CyrusMonk (Drapac EF Cycling) an interesting quartet.

Crome still lets the Australians celebrate
The four escapees were caught seven kilometers before the finish line. The game started over. The next attacks came immediately, which made sense with this wavy profile shortly before the end. The group got smaller and smaller, but no one could stand out as a soloist. Good for Sam Crome (Bennelong SwissWellness Cycling Team), as the 24-year-old Australian proved to be the fastest man in the sprint. Not only can he be happy about the greatest success of his career, but he is also rewarded for the many efforts that his team has made during each stage of this tour. At the same time he managed to get an Australian rider to win a stage on the last day of the Herald Sun Tour. However, the big winner is called Esteban Chaves. After such a difficult past year, he really deserves this triumph. Chaves will thus succeed his teammate Damien Howson.
