cycling: SIX DAY BERLIN: 5 teams in the zero round, Levy cracks Bötticher

30 January 2018 by Michael Behringer

Six Day Berlin Boetticher

Track cycling: After the exciting Bremen six-day race a heart-stopping finale is also emerging at the SIX DAY BERLIN. After the fifth night, five teams are in the clear round. There was another change of leadership. Now the top favorites Moreno De Pauw and Kenny De Ketele are ahead again - but only a measly two points. In the men's sprint, the first two also changed places, as Maximilian Levy is now in the lead.

Only two points separate the top 2

In the past few days it has already become apparent that there will be a duel between Moreno De Pauw/Kenny De Ketele and Wim Stroetinga/Yoeri Havik. The Belgian top favorites and the Dutch title holders have simply presented themselves the strongest in the past few days. But the Swiss and the Germans are not out of the race yet. The duos Nico Selenati/Tristan Marguet, Roger Kluge/Theo Reinhardt and Leif Lampater/Christian Grasmann are also still in the clear round. So the decision is made at the SIX DAY BERLIN – just as we viewers would like it to be – on the very last day.

There's only one day left of #SixDayBerlin and it's tight at the top of the leaderboard. Just 2 points separate the top two teams so don't miss tomorrow's action when we find out who will be crowned Champions 👑👑 pic.twitter.com/28PN36DE0E

Levy chasing the lead from Bötticher

The motto in the men's sprint is also pure excitement. After Stefan Bötticher had made an outstanding comeback on the track in the past few days, Maximilian Levy was able to respond on the fifth day. The new leader won three competitions. Now he is seven points ahead of Bötticher. It's less exciting for the women, as Kristina Vogel simply towers over all the other participants. But Miriam Welte was also able to celebrate her sense of achievement today. The standers are already done. Franz Schiewer snatched overall victory.

THAT is why she is a multiple world champion! 🥇

???? @KristinaVogel means business as she opens up with her fastest flying lap so far in Berlin. Looks like we're in for a good night!#SixDayBerlin pic.twitter.com/0Qasih5Pnd
