Track cycling: There was a change of leadership on the second day of the Sixdays Bremen. The duo of Wim Stroetinga/Robbe Ghys gave up #1 to Achim Burkart/Yoeri Havik in the six-day race. Bitter: Three drivers were neutralized.
Five teams with good chances of winning - Lampater & Liß out
The 54th Sixdays Bremen should bring Leif Lampater the third win after 2009 and 2014. In Moreno De Pauw he actually had the perfect teammate at his side. But after day #2 the dream is over. Top favorite Leif Lampater had to miss the races due to gastrointestinal problems. Birthday boy Lukas Liß had a similar experience. Due to the after-effects of his serious fall a few weeks ago, he did not compete either. In addition to the sick or injured, those who suffer are also their teammates. So after day #2 there are actually only five teams left that actually have a good chance of winning the Sixdays Bremen overall. It is still unclear whether sprint star Tomáš Bábek will be able to continue the six-day race. The Czech – who was leading the sprint after day #1 – fell and was taken to the hospital with a suspected broken collarbone. René Enders meanwhile took the lead.
Eric Weispfennig: "It's incredibly annoying for the neutralized drivers. I hope that they will be back at the start tomorrow.”

Burkart/Havik after the great hunt the hunted
The Burkart/Havik duo earned the lead with an excellent performance in the big hunt. Together they were not only able to break the 100 point mark, but also passed all the teams in front of him. Stroetinga/Ghys, on the other hand, showed initial weaknesses so that they were passed down to #3. The sole favorite duo Kenny De Ketele/Theo Reinhardt is now in #2. However, five teams still have a chance of winning, and they are all within three rounds. Behind the distances are already too big.
