Product news: Sports Nut takes over distribution of Afton Shoes – New models planned for September

June 30, 2017 by Andrew Waldera

Market: Sports Nut GmbH, based in Kirchentellinsfurt, takes over the distribution of Afton Shoes for Germany and Austria. Two new MTB shoe models are already in the starting blocks and are scheduled to be launched in September.

The Keegan was specially developed for flat pedals. According to the manufacturer, the outsole made of Afton Intact rubber has a rubber hardness of 60 and should therefore offer an optimal compromise between above-average durability and grip. As a special feature of the shoe, Afton refers to the mono-directional upper. On the one hand, this should enable the wearer to walk normally and, on the other hand, support the rider during hard landings and protect against bumps. For additional protection, Afton also gave the flat pedal shoe a nylon-reinforced toe box. The Keegan is expected to be available from September for 99,99 euros.

Comfort is also possible with a clip shoe - that's what Afton Shoes claims with regard to the Vectal model. Features of the innovative shoe are a specially designed shaft, the toe box and an oversized clip box, which is intended to ensure compatibility with many types of pedals. In order to be able to increase performance and pedal power, an individually adjustable strap is attached to the top. The Vectal should also be available from September, the price will be 119,99 euros.
