Market: The Nathusius entrepreneurial family takes over the insolvent bicycle manufacturer Mifa and saves Germany's largest bicycle group.
Von Nathusius, the entrepreneurial family from Germany, which has already made a name for itself in the car industry, saves the German bicycle manufacturer Mifa. The purchase contract was signed on Thursday evening. All 600 Mifa employees are to be taken over. Nothing has become known about the agreed purchase price for this deal.
After an Indian entrepreneur failed to get started, Mifa had to file for bankruptcy, but the state government of Saxony-Anhalt did not want to simply abandon the traditional company to its fate. The country's announcement that it would guarantee a loan through the investment bank enabled Nathusius' new buyer to get on board.
As the owner of IFA Rotoring Holding GmbH, von Nathusius already employs 2000 people who work in the manufacture of propeller shafts and joints. With the addition of Mifa, both companies should now complement each other in their focus on the automotive market and the bicycle and e-bike industry.
