racing bikes: Fuji Supreme 1.3: Women's racer with competition qualities

July 2, 2014 by the editorial office

fuji

Test: As is well known, the color associated with the female gender.

Fuji thought the same thing and brought it supreme 1.3 in matt black with metallic pink elements on the market, which I was able to test extensively in the past few weeks.

equipment and practice

The look is a matter of taste, I personally would have chosen a different color, but the overall picture makes a very good impression. Fuji is known for its rather eye-catching design and this is also very evident in this model. The bike manufacturer has succeeded in designing a visually appealing women's racing bike. The glitter parts in the pink elements and the silver lettering will definitely please one or the other woman.

Most women's bikes from well-known brands are more reminiscent of hobby sports and not of a sporty attitude on a racing bike. Not like that supreme 1.3! The curved top tube is not only an eye-catcher, but also gives the whole bike a soft touch. The relatively short head tube also allows the smaller women among us an optimal racing position.

Although it is not one of the lightweights at 8,5 kilograms, it is nevertheless suitable for entering the racing scene due to its very stable driving experience. Unfortunately, the slightly smaller frames also have their disadvantages. They are not only smaller, but also shorter. An unpleasant side effect when turning in is bumping your foot against the front wheel.

The Fuji supreme 1.3 is equipped with the new Shimano Ultegra 11-speed except for the crank. This convinces with longevity and a direct switching behavior. The crank, like the saddle, seat post, handlebars and stem, is from Oval, Fuji's house brand. Saddle and handlebars were not ideal for me personally. But these are small things that can easily be customized. They do not detract from the comfortable driving experience.

Conclusion

Today's woman who is sporty and is looking for a bike that she can identify with both visually and in terms of riding technique is at the Fuji supreme 1.3 precisely. Thanks to its agility and manoeuvrability, it is fun to train with, but it is also ideal for competitions.
