Test: If you love your bike, you push it - we all know that's not true and that it's usually a very sarcastic saying from friends who smile at a breakdown. But if you love your bike, you clean it. Every cyclist will probably agree.
In 1994, exactly 20 years ago, Rex Trimnell began developing a product to make cleaning our beloved bicycles easier. Muc-Off was born and signed Steve Peat just a year later. Since then, the products have been continuously developed and optimized for a wide variety of uses. During the first warm weeks of the year, we used the comprehensive Muc-Off 8-in-1 set.

Small but perfectly formed – the 8-in-1 set contains all the essential products for washing your bike, all neatly packed in a small bucket: 1-liter Bike Cleaner, 500 ml Bike Spray, sponge, softwash brush, double-headed brush, triangular brush, and sprocket brush. We used the 8-in-1 set on both our mountain bike and road bike. The key feature of the Bike Cleaner is said to be Muc-Off's proprietary nanotechnology, which is designed to penetrate and completely remove all types of dirt, whether oil, grease, or mud.
With the supplied brushes you can get into every little corner, be it the receptacles of the spokes on the hub flange, where dirt tends to get stuck, or between the chainrings. To clean it, we recommend spraying the entire bike with the Bike Cleaner, letting it soak in a bit and then removing the coarsest dirt with a large, soft sponge or a large brush. The nice thing about the Bike Cleaner is that it is completely biodegradable and you don't have to worry about possible environmental pollution. After all, many other manufacturers use the eco-unfriendly chemical club for their products - but as I said, no problem with the Muc-Off products. With a garden hose, the remaining dirt can be easily rinsed off the wheel and the beloved vehicle looks like new.
To keep it that way, Muc-Off provides protection against dirt and corrosion with the Bike Spray. So the dirt of the next descent should no longer settle and the bike is protected. Be careful with the brakes. These and the brake discs should be covered before using the bike spray, otherwise a fine film of oil will form on the brake pads and the function will be severely impaired.
All that's missing is some chain oil on the drive and you can look forward to the next tour.
