Cycling: After yesterday, Primoz Roglic also won today's stage from Tirreno – Adriatico. The Slovenian was able to assert himself in the sprint of a surprisingly large group uphill and thus only took the blue jersey from Lennard Kämna because of the time bonus.
Has Roglic weakened or gambled?
It's windy in France and Italy. While the sixth stage from Paris – Nice was canceled due to strong winds, the fifth stage from Tirreno – Adriatico had to be slightly shortened. Around 2,5 kilometers less had to be completed on the final climb, so that the section from Morro d'Oro to Sarnano-Sassotetto was only 165,6 kilometers long. I let that go Primois Roglic (Jumbo – Visma) but don't be put off. For a long time it looked as if the Slovenian would almost be left behind. However, when it came to the sprint for the day's victory, he put himself ahead Julius Ciccone (Trek – Segafredo) from Italy.
Kämna loses the blue jersey very narrowly
With an extremely strong performance Lennard Kamna (Bora – hansgrohe) almost defended the blue jersey. In the final climb, the German always stayed with the best. Only in the fight for the day's victory he was no longer able to intervene. He almost benefited from that Damian Caruso (Bahrain – Victorious) already seemed to have rushed ahead of the group of favourites. An attack by Enric Mas Nicolau (Movistar) brought around 15 men together again. So the day's victory actually had to be decided in the sprint - and there it was Primois Roglic (Jumbo – Visma) again unbeatable. He now leads the overall standings by four seconds ahead of Lennard Kämna.
