Cycling: Lennard Kämna got off to a good start on the Tirreno – Adriatico tour. The German time trial champion was only defeated by the Italian time trial champion Filippo Ganna.
Ganna is in a different league
As expected Filippo Gana (Ineos Grenadiers) won the opening time trial of Tirreno – Adriatico. In the fight against the clock over 11,5 kilometers with start and finish in Lido di Camaiore, the Italian was a whopping 28 seconds faster than the second on the day. And this one comes from Germany. Then Lennard Kamna (Bora – hansgrohe) referred the American by three seconds Magnus Sheffield (Ineos Grenadiers) in third place. The drivers who started first had a hard time on wet roads. During the course of the day, the track dried up a bit, giving the pros who started later had a slight advantage – Kämna and Ganna also benefited from this. Tirreno – Adriatico will finish in San Benedetto del Tronto on Sunday after seven stages.
