Purchase of the new e-bike by the end of 2023
As the ADAC survey shows, 20 percent of those surveyed want to buy a new e-bike in the next three years. Over 70 percent plan to make this purchase by the end of 2023, i.e. in the coming bike season. So there is a lot of demand in the bike industry.
Three quarters are first-time buyers

E-bike purchase mainly in local shops
The stationary specialist trade is still the first place to go to buy an e-bike - more than two thirds plan to buy from a specialist bike trade. People who already have experience with e-bikes are more likely to buy bikes online than those who are inexperienced. The study also shows that e-city bikes are the most frequently purchased, ahead of e-trekking bikes and e-MTBs.
E-bike leasing more and more interesting
Given the high acquisition costs, tax-subsidized company bike leasing is gaining in importance for those surveyed. With a price of more than 3.000 euros, almost every fifth person planning a purchase wants to take advantage of this offer.
