Cycling: Peter Sagan is back! The Slovak won the third stage of the Tour de Suisse in a bunch sprint and thus the first race for his new team TotalEnergies.

The third stage of the Tour de Suisse was decided in a mass sprint. After 176,9 kilometers, starting in Aesch and finishing in Grenchen, Peter Sagan (Total Energies) prevailed over Bryan Coquard (Cofidis) and Alexander Kristoff (Intermarché – Wanty – Gobert Matériaux). This marked the Slovakian's 18th stage victory in the Tour de Suisse – a record! It was also his first win for the French team Total Energies. Maximilian Schachmann (Bora – hansgrohe) was unlucky. The German champion crashed shortly before the three-kilometer rule came into effect and consequently lost his second place overall.
Bissegger with a strong performance
With Philippe Gilbert (Lotto – Soudal), Quinn Simmons (Trek – Segafredo), Manuele Boaro (Astana), Joey Rosskopf (Human Powered Health), and the two Swiss riders Stefan Bissegger (EF Education First – EasyPost) and Mathias Reutimann (National Team), today's breakaway was incredibly strong. The six escapees weren't given much of a lead by the team of race leader Stephen Williams (Bahrain – Victorious). Nevertheless, Stefan Bissegger refused to give up and launched two attacks from within the group. He first dropped two riders, then the remaining three. However, the peloton caught him before the 10-kilometer mark.
