Track World Championship: gold for women, bronze for men
What a start to the Track World Championships! The Federation of German Cyclists can celebrate gold on the first day of the World Championships in Roubaix. Emma Hinze, Lea Sophie Friedrich and Pauline Grabosch successfully defended their world championship title in the team sprint - with three world records in a row. In the final run, the clock stopped after 46,064 seconds. And the men can be happy too. Nik Schroeter, Stefan Bötticher, Joachim Eilers and Marc Jurczyk won the bronze medal.
Short-term national coach Detlef Uibel:
“The women drove excellently three times. It was just great. But I'm also really happy about the medal for the men. Nik Schröter as a young man for the start has recommended himself for the future with three consistently good runs.”
