Product news: The new Focus Atlas Gravelbike is presented with the slogan "Made to lose". One or the other will certainly be surprised, because why would you want a bike that was made to lose?! But Focus Bikes also has a few arguments ready for this, because the Atlas was not primarily developed for racing, but much more for unique experiences and adventures where you can lose yourself and just let go.
The Atlas is the first gravel bike from the German manufacturer Focus. This is an all-rounder that was not made for fast rides, but is the perfect companion for every adventure. Reliable as an old friend and spiced up with a healthy pinch of trail fun, it's a lot of fun to ride.
The two heads behind the Focus Atlas are named Nacho and Steffen and have the famous in the development of the gravel bike
Atlas Mountains thought. The Atlas Mountain Race, one of the most popular challenges in the gravel community, is not primarily about speed, but about the challenge and the adventure. This is exactly what the Focus Gravelbike should stand for and should be a bike that coolly takes part in every adventure, masters every terrain with ease and always inspires self-confidence.
And why exactly did it get the name Atlas? Because it's as lush on the ground as the Atlas Mountains in North Africa is, developer Nacho's explanation is.
The Focus Atlas Gravel Bike at a glance
Thanks to the generous design of the frame, it offers space for tires up to 47 mm wide, so you can let off steam when choosing tires and ride almost anything you want. Also with 650B wheels, of course. Depending on personal preference, the Atlas can be turned into a gravel road racer or a fun device for the trail.
The Atlas is a rather long bike: the combination of a longer reach and a short stem gives the bike extremely smooth handling. The front is relatively high, which gives the rider security on descents and ensures a relaxed seating position. To ensure that the Focus Gravelbike remains manoeuvrable, the frame comes with extremely short chainstays, which should mean a lot of agility.
Focus Atlas – Technical Features
Integrated cockpit solution
The CIS Cockpit was specially developed for the Atlas. This takes integration to a new level and trains should hardly be in the way or visible. Easy to use, safe and secure and also beautiful to look at, that's the motto of the CIS Cockpit. The cables run from the handlebars directly into the head tube, enabling smooth shifting and a tidy handlebar - particularly important for anyone who wants to mount a handlebar bag.
Road Boost
The Road Boost technology brings high stability and the best spoke tension at the same time. The wheels therefore follow all maneuvers and promise long-lasting performance.
Short chainstays
Super short chainstays make the Atlas a bike that is playful on trails. In addition, there is a short stem, which brings even more agility and ensures a comfortable ride.
cool yoke
It's engineer Nacho's favorite part of the Atlas: thanks to the ingenious yoke, the rear end allows the cables to be routed in such a way that there is plenty of tire clearance and you remain flexible.

The name is program!
What's supposed to be fun about a heavy racing bike/gravel bike? Not even a mid-range MTB hardtail weighs 10,5 kg. In addition, there is an ugly frame that is jagged by screws.
For the same price there are much lighter bikes with better equipment!
