Product news: Since its introduction a good five years ago, the Canyon Grail has been one of the most diverse gravel bikes in the scene. With the new version, the Koblenz manufacturer is now primarily targeting racing, without neglecting other areas of use.
Regardless of whether you are an ambitious gravel racer, a bikepacking adventurer or a serious gravel enthusiast – the Canyon Grail was the right choice for everyone. Since the requirements of gravel racing and therefore also of gravel bikes are constantly evolving, Canyon has also taken the next step and given its new Grail a little more racing genes. The key to success still lies in an extremely flexible platform that can be adapted to the different requirements of the respective routes and conditions. These criteria were the basis for the development of the new Grail. Just in time for the launch, we have an overview of all the details about the new Canyon Grail gravel bike here.
Already numerous victories with the new Canyon Grail
According to the manufacturer, they were able to achieve their goal even before the new Canyon Grail was officially presented, because just last weekend the new Grail won the women's Gravel World Championship with Kasia Niewiadoma. This is exactly why a few race genes were implanted into the Grail - to be even faster on any terrain. So one thing was clear: the focus on competitive sports. For this reason, in addition to the CF SL and CF SLX versions, the new Canyon Grail also comes with a weight-optimized CFR frame and absolute top components. The most powerful carbon fibers and the most modern manufacturing processes are used, which enable less material to be used with higher frame rigidity and durability. The Grail CFR frameset is 118 g lighter and 10% stiffer than the new Grail CF SLX in terms of power transmission to the bottom bracket and head tube.

Maximum performance on any terrain
The goal for the new Canyon Grail was quickly defined: maximum performance on any terrain. To do this, the gravel bike from the German manufacturer from Koblenz not only had to be optimized in terms of aerodynamics, but also equipped with an efficient and comfortable frame, plenty of stability, balanced handling and clever integration.
Particular attention was paid to the adaptability of the platform, where, according to the company, new standards can be set with Grail. Regardless of whether you need a gravel bike for brisk one-day sections or long trips with many kilometers - the new Grail should impress you with its flexibility across the board.
If you look at the performance advantages on paper, you can't help but be amazed. A total of 9 watts have been achieved with aerodynamic savings compared to the previous model. There is also a special storage solution called the Aero Load System, which is supposed to make the bike even faster. The Aero Load System includes the Load Down Tube Storage integrated into the frame as well as the innovative Load FidLock QuickLoader frame bag, which improves the aerodynamics of the new Grail by 1,5 watts compared to the previous model. This means you have everything with you even during longer competitions and still benefit from the performance advantages of the Grail.

New handlebars with ergonomic shape
The driving dynamics have also been revised and the new frame geometry ensures additional stability while maintaining agile handling, which the first Grail already had a lot of on its way. When it comes to comfort, the new Grail makes no compromises and relies on a seat post concept adopted from the Ultimate road racing bike and optimized for gravel use. A lot of work has also been done on the handlebars, as the new CP0039 Double Drop Bar with Gear Groove ensures comfort and full flexibility thanks to compatibility with various accessory mounts and aero attachments adopted from the Canyon Speedmax.
The new Canyon Grail lineup – all models at a glance
The new Canyon Grail gravel bike comes with three frame platforms and a wide variety of equipment variants. The models are priced between 2.699 euros for the CF SL with a mechanical Shimano GRX group and 10.000 euros for the limited Grail CFR Pro LTD with SRAM Red AXS eTap.
