Front light Cateye GVolt 70.1: Upgrade with almost twice the performance

September 17, 2020 by Andrew Waldera

Cateye GVolt 70.1

Product news: Two years ago, the Japanese bicycle accessories manufacturer Cateye expanded its range with the StVZO-compliant GVolt 70 front light. The "hanging" front light solution not only impresses with its innovative and eye-catching design, but also with the option of turning the light on -Front brackets or with an adapter to mount on GoPro recordings. With immediate effect, the Cateye GVolt 70.1 is an upgrade with a more efficient LED and a larger battery capacity.

Cateye GVolt 70.1

After the launch of the GVolt 70 two years ago, Cateye is now following up with a powerful upgrade. According to the manufacturer, the new GVolt 70.1 should last almost twice as long as the previous model thanks to the use of a more efficient LED and a larger battery capacity. Summarized in numbers, this means 4 hours at 70 lux, 5,5 hours at 50 lux and 25 hours at 10 lux. The developers left the slim and compact design of the lamp unchanged. Although the performance boost has almost doubled, the price remains the same at 79,95 euros. The GVolt 70.1 is available now and will gradually replace the previous model in stores. The StVZO-compliant front light is sold by Paul Lange and Co.
