Product news / E-MTB: The Spanish manufacturer has given its Shimano E-MTB Xtep the new Shimano EP2021 motor for the 8 season, giving it a decent performance boost. Apart from that, careful model maintenance is carried out.
The BH Xtep has firmly established itself in the BH Basque portfolio since its launch in 2019. While it inherited many of its unique features from its sister model, the Atom-X - including its large 720 Wh battery with its innovative extraction - it relied on a Shimano E8000 motor. For 2021, the platform will remain the same with six models for different areas of use from everyday use to tours and trails, but now comes with the new Shimano EP8 motor.
Shimano EP8 motor: Smaller, lighter, more powerful
The EP 8 replaces the proven and groundbreaking E8000 motor and eliminates all of its criticisms: With a maximum of 85 Nm, the drive is now on par with the E-MTB competition in terms of power, while at the same time the designers managed to reduce the weight to an impressive 2,6 kg press. This makes the EP8 approx. 300g lighter than its predecessor and many of the competition. Furthermore, the somewhat unpleasant background noise of the predecessor could be calmed down and the already excellent response behavior further improved.
Shimano EP8 motor presented: The new E-MTB reference?
Product News / E-Performance: With the Shimano EP8, the bicycle giant is introducing a completely new E-MTB drive that will inherit the successful and groundbreaking E8000. When it comes to maximum performance, it catches up with the competition, and when it comes to weight, it even undercuts them. He also has a few other aces up his sleeve. We turn the wheel of time a little [...]
BH Xtep 2021: Proven aluminum frame and large battery
The basic ingredients of the BH Xtep 2021 have not changed compared to the predecessor: we still have an aluminum frame, whose continuous, massive down tube houses a long-range 720 Wh battery, which thanks to the better efficiency of the EP8 motor now even has one more Track should hold out longer than its predecessor. It can be removed conveniently via a flap on the top tube, which can be unlocked either with a key or with the supplied bracelet.
Bra Xtep Cross Pro: Comfortable all-rounder with Shimano motor
Product news / E-MTB: The BH Xtep Cross Pro Shimano e-bike scores with equipment suitable for everyday use and touring and a huge 720Wh battery. Thanks to its E-MTB genes, it also plays in the top league when it comes to comfort. Fully equipped E-MTBs are one of the big trends in the bicycle sector in the 2020 season. No wonder: in the past […]
BH will start the 2021 season with the well-known two Xtep orientations: On the one hand there is the touring-oriented hardtail version with 100 mm spring travel, which will also be available in a fully equipped "SUV" version with mudguards, lighting system and luggage rack . There are also a total of four full-suspension equipment variants with 150 mm travel at the front and 140 mm at the rear. The geometry hasn't changed compared to last year and remains well balanced with a good dose of forgiving. A highlight here is certainly the pleasantly drive-neutral and very comfortable Split Pivot rear triangle.
BH Xtep 2021: models and trim levels
The total of six different configurations – two hardtails, four fullys – range in price from 4.499 euros to 6.999 euros for the top model. The well-dimensioned brakes with large discs on all variants and the fact that all models are equipped with the large 720 Wh battery should be positively emphasized.
