Cycling Transfers: Now it's official. Nils Politt will be pedaling for the Israel Cycling Academy in the coming season, as will André Greipel and Rick Zabel. The team takes over the WorldTour license from Katusha Alpecin.
Nils Politt wants even more with the Israel Cycling Academy
For a long time there was speculation about the colors Nils Politt will contest his races in the coming season. Now we know that the 25-year-old - like before him Rick Zabel and André Greipel – will join the Israel Cycling Academy. The team takes over the license from the Swiss racing team Katusha - Alpecin and thus moves up from a Pro Continental team to the WorldTour. Will also ride for the Israel Cycling Academy in 2020 Alex Dowsett and Reto Hollenstein.
Nils Politt:
“Obviously the circumstances were difficult for all Katusha riders. But I am happy that I now have clarity and that I am part of the Israel Cycling Academy. I look forward to being involved in this project. I can learn a lot in this team, especially when it comes to classics. Last year we missed an experienced driver at Katusha. With André Greipel and all the other strong drivers in the team, we can achieve outstanding results in the spring classics. Last season was great, but I want even more with the Israel Cycling Academy.”
Cycling transfers: all transfers at a glance – status: 27.11.
Has Team Ineos signed the next prodigy? A few days ago, the British team signed the commitment of Carlos Rodríguez Cano announced. The Spaniard is only 18 years old and therefore still completely unknown in the professional scene. However, his performances in the 2019 season seem to have convinced the Ineos bosses. Among others, Carlos Rodriguez Cano became Spanish champion in the junior time trial. Also Brandon Rivera a 23-year-old Colombian, signed with Ineos. While they are just beginning their careers, an old hand has ended them. Stephen Cummings (Dimension Data) is giving up his bike.
