Cycling: Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) has landed a double at the Tour of California. The Slovenian won the mountain finish on Mount Baldy and thus captured the yellow jersey. The Austrian Riccardo Zoidl (CCC) also impressed with his fifth place.
Higuita strong - Pogacar clever
The sixth stage of the Tour of California was only 127,5 kilometers long. But she wasn't easy. After starting in Ontario, three difficult mountains had to be overcome. The highlight was Mount Baldy, which is 8,2 kilometers long and has an average gradient of 8,4 percent. The decision should also be made in this final climb - in relation to the stage and the overall ranking. Because the leader Tejay Van Garderen (EF Education) couldn't follow the strongest climbers today. Therefore, his team played the second card: Sergio Higuita. The Colombian looked like the certain winner for a long time before Tadej pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) was able to close the gap. Due to the tight overall standings, the Slovenian also took over the yellow jersey after winning the stage. The decisive factor for his success was the last left turn, which he drove much tighter and was thus able to easily pass his opponent on the inside lane.
This is the Victoria de Pogacar!! Muy mala trazada de Sergio Higuita, que pierde la etapa por esa curva. #Amgentoc pic.twitter.com/5PvIeiroKl
