Track cycling: It shouldn't be another gold medal on day three of the Track Cycling World Cup in Berlin. But there was still precious metal. Miriam Welte and Emma Hinze again took care of silver medals - but this time solo.
Miriam Welte and Emma Hinze can do it alone
Miriam Welte and Emma Hinze already took silver on the first day of the Track World Cup in Berlin. Together in the team sprint, they were only defeated by the currently almost unbeatable Russians. Just as they were able to open the weekend in Berlin, they also ended the event - but this time not together as a duo. While Miriam Welte finished second in the 500 meter time trial, Emma Hinze did the same in the keirin. Gold in these disciplines went to Olena Starikova from Ukraine and Laurine van Riessen from the Netherlands. In the other competitions, the German participants went away empty-handed. Gold in the Madison was secured in the women's Great Britain. Australia's Matthew Glaetzer and Sam Welsford won the men's sprint and omnium respectively.
