In an exciting and very offensive race, he left his compatriots Alexis Vuillermoz (AG2R La Mondiale) and Rudy Molard (Groupama-FDJ) behind.

The second and final stage of the Tour du Haut Var took the riders 188,5 kilometers from Vidauban to Flayosc. On the very undulating course, four riders – Benoît Jarrier (Fortuneo-Samsic), Jérémy Lecroq (Vital Concept), Evaldas Siskevicius (Delko Marseille Provence KTM), and Fernando Barcelo (Euskadi Basque Country Murias) – launched an attack. However, with 28 kilometers to go, this attempt was over, and the race essentially started anew. This time, four riders broke away: the Frenchmen Julien Antomarchi (Roubaix Lille Métropole), Julien El Fares (Delko Marseille Provence KTM), and Axel Domont (AG2R La Mondiale), as well as the Ukrainian Andriy Grivko (Astana). But once again, the peloton was alert and leveled the playing field before the decisive attack.
Hivert clears everything
After Jonathan Hivert (Direct Energie) won the first stage of the Tour du Haut Var yesterday by one second, the Frenchman started today's second and final stage in a very good position. With only 20 kilometers to go, Team Groupama-FDJ launched an attack with three riders. Alongside Thibaut Pinot, Rudy Molard , and Valentin Madouas , Alexis Vuillermoz (AG2R La Mondiale), Mauro Finetto (Delko Marseille Provence KTM), and overall leader Jonathan Hivert also broke away. On this undulating course, the attack by such strong riders proved to be more than just a preliminary decision. Although Team Groupama-FDJ tried everything, and there were also attacks from Alexis Vuillermoz and Mauro Finetto, Jonathan Hivert ultimately prevailed once again. He thus won the second stage and, with it, quite deservedly, the overall classification of the Tour du Haut Var.
