A fantastic debut for Michael Woods (Israel Start-Up Nation). The 34-year-old Canadian won the second stage of the Tour des Alpes Maritimes et du Var, his first race in the jersey of his new team. After 168 kilometers starting and finishing in Fayences, he beat stage winner Bauke Mollema (Trek-Segafredo) and the rest of the field by two seconds. He launched his attack 400 meters from the finish in the 1,2-kilometer Mur de Fayence and was unstoppable. In the overall standings, Michael Woods now leads Bauke Mollema by one second with one day remaining. David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) is in third place. Last year's winner, Nairo Quintana (Arkéa-Samsic), is ninth, 13 seconds behind.
