Test: With the Impulse motor and integrated battery, the I Street conveys pure dynamics; in practice it is absent
certainly a bit of the liveliness. Reaching 45 km/h is difficult, if only because of the high pedaling frequency required. At speeds just over 30 km/h, the harmonious drive is in its element, and then it also demonstrates the typical range of an S-Pedelec. There are also a wide range of setting options: the "shift sensor" ensures smoother gear changes by briefly stopping (0 to 300 ms) the motor support; “Climb Assist” can be individualized for mountain journeys. The Focus is top equipped with very strong brakes, quick-release axles and a long-travel, well-responsive suspension fork. The seat post, which can be infinitely adjusted from the handlebars, is practical.

With the improvements flowing into the 2018 Impulse EVO engines, the Focus Jarifa, like the Kalkhoff Integrale, would be a real gem and, from the point of view of the drive components, hopefully also reliable and with a long service life - we'll see.
