Cycle tours / Spectrum: The motto of the Chariteam Munich is: Cycling for a good cause - the official partner is the ZNS - Hannelore Kohl Foundation, which supports people with damage to the central nervous system as a result of head injuries. Together with the cycling tour operator Prostyle, the Chariteam is organizing a racing bike event in May that will take participants from Munich to the Giro d'Italia in Italy. Ex-pro Jens Heppner will be there, among others, and the event is open to all performance classes.
The Giro d'Italia, the first of the three grand tours, will take place from May 6th to 29th. In Italy, the race resembles a true folk festival during the stages and tens of thousands of cycling enthusiasts line the roadsides. The Chariteam Munich and Prostyle offer a great opportunity for amateur cyclists, everyone, or even 'normal' cycling fans who want to experience the hunt for the Maglia Rosa live. Experienced guides lead all participants in four ability groups from Munich via Innsbruck into the Dolomites to Castelrotto in South Tyrol. Here there will be an opportunity to witness the hunt for the pink jersey during stages 14 and 15, which will also pass through these regions.
It starts on Thursday, May 19th in Munich. The first stage takes the maximum of 60 participants over 140km to Mils in Tyrol - the division of the riders into four groups ensures that all levels of performance can be taken into account. Jens Heppner will also be there: The former professional wore the Maglia Rosa himself for 2002 days in 10 and will certainly enrich the event with one or two anecdotes. On the second day we continue to the South Tyrolean municipality of Kastelruth, very close to Bolzano. As every day, the Prostyle team vehicle will accompany the groups and offer technical service and supplies.
Stage #1: Munich – Mils (140km)
Stage #2: Mils – Castelrotto (130km)
Stage #3: Castelrotto – Corvara (90km) [+14. Stage of the Giro] Stage #4: Kastelruth – Seiseralm (80km) [+15. stage of the Giro]
After that, Saturday (May 21st) and Sunday (May 22nd) slightly shorter stages (80 and 90km) await the participants, because after all, everyone should be there in time to cheer on the Giro pros and enjoy the unique atmosphere . The base camp will be set up right next to the route, giving you a 'box seat' for the 2016 Giro. On Sunday evening, you'll return to Munich in a very relaxed manner in the coach.
In the price of €659 (three nights in a double room including half board in arithmetic court, or in the Alpine Royal) also includes a donation of 20€ to the ZNS Foundation, as well as catering during the stage, luggage transport to and from the hotels, bus transfer on May 22nd and a Chariteam Munich cycling jersey. We think it's a really nice thing for cycling fans! Registration is open until February 28.02.2016th, XNUMX.
