Cycling: Johann Tschopp ends his career as a road professional with the IAM Cycling team and returns to mountain biking.
After eleven years, the Swiss Johann Tschopp puts an end to his road career, but is not completely lost to cycling. He is returning to his roots and would like to concentrate on cross-country marathon distances in the future, as he was Swiss champion in this discipline in 2004. He will continue to be supported by Michel Thétaz, owner of IAM Cycling, who has contracted the 32-year-old athlete for the last two seasons. Tschopp lets his fans know: "I decided to live my dream in the 2015 season. With the help of Michel Thétaz and IAM Funds, I will accept the challenge and devote myself entirely to mountain biking. I will continue to be part of the IAM family.”
According to his own statements, road racing has brought him many beautiful moments since the beginning of his career in 2004, such as winning the mountain jersey at the 2014 Tour de Romandie. Nevertheless, Tschopp does not want to add another season. So he decided to return to mountain biking.
