Market: For the 2015 model year, Giant is coming up with some very interesting innovations and novelties. The newly developed Defy model series and the FastRoad fitness bike should be of particular interest.
The long-distance racing bike Giant Defy covers the needs of on-road frequent riders who, in addition to maximum riding comfort, require low weight and maximum riding efficiency. The frame set of the Carbon-Advanced model, which is available in two quality levels, has been completely redeveloped, although the tried-and-tested geometry has been retained. The frame of the top model Defy Advanced SL not only has an extremely low weight of 890 grams including the seat post, but should also offer stiffness and suspension comfort at the highest level. Hydraulic or mechanical disc brakes on the available Carbon-Advanced models ensure reliable deceleration in all driving situations.
With the Giant FastRoad, the name says it all! The bike has been specially developed for fitness training on the road and is just as suitable for an evening workout as it is for a quick lap at the weekend. The aerodynamic frame and the 25 mm road bike tires offer ideal conditions for record times. At the top of the model series is the FastRoad CoMax 1. With the hydraulic Tektro HDC-330 disc brake and the new 2×11 105 Shimano gears, the CoMax 1 certainly leaves nothing to be desired. The more affordable FastRoad SLR 1 is based on a lightweight AluxX SLR aluminum frame. The FastRoad SLR 1 is equipped with hydraulic Tektro HDC-M290 disc brakes and 2×10 Tiagra gears from Shimano. The Giant FastRoad is available in sizes XS to XL.
